
Just days into the new year, California water policy is offering an opportunity for bipartisan cooperation on an issue critical to the state. Monday, the California Latino Water Coalition arranged a gathering of public officials at Friant Dam above Fresno to dramatize the need for more surface water storage. A collection of public officials in attendance called for a larger reservoir along the San Joaquin River at Temperance Flat and reiterated their support for passage of an $11 billion state water bond in 2012 that includes $3 billion for storage.
